FROM: Traci Rogstad, Director of Capital Projects

REGARDING: 2014 Capital Bond Project Reconciliation

As we move forward with informing the board of our 2018 bond projects plan and list of 2019 capital projects, we would like to present a project reconciliation of all projects completed that were funded from the 2014 capital bond.

In 2012, the Capital Bond Task Force began a review of district growth and current priorities in building improvement projects (using the 2012 Comparative Facilities Survey and Condition Rating), security and technology and prepared a prioritization for review and approval by the school board. In 2013, the board approved a $177.5 M bond proposal, to include a $130 M new high school, $47.5 M in Life Cycle/Building Improvement projects, Security, Technology, Fields and Outdoor Instructional Space, and ongoing capacity adds where available. That bond was approved by voters in February 2014.

The following capital project priorities were included and have been completed:

  1. North Creek High School
  2. Woodinville High School Phase 3
    • Gymnasium upgrade
    • Baseball Turf Replacement
    • Technology building upgrade
  3. Timbercrest Middle School
    • Roof
  4. Frank Love Elementary
    • ESCO HVAC/Boiler room upgrades
    • Roof upgrades
    • Bus circulation improvements
  5. Woodin Elementary
    • Roof upgrades
    • Flooring/carpet replacement
    • Gym flooring replacement
    • Bus circulation improvement
  6. Woodmoor Elementary

    • ESCO HVAC/Boiler room upgrades
  7. Bothell High School
    • Baseball Turf Replacement
  8. Inglemoor High School
    • Baseball Turf Replacement
    • Admin Flooring/Carpet replacement
    • area roof upgrades
  9. Capacity Add – Portables @ multiple locations
  10. Kenmore Elementary and Shelton View
    • Gym flooring replacement
  11. Sunrise Elementary
    • Admin flooring/carpet replacement
    • Fire Alarm panel replacement
  12. Maywood Hill Elementary, Moorlands Elementary,
    Westhill Elementary & Fernwood Elementary
    • Parking, Paving and/or Circulation improvements
  13.  District-Wide Security (cameras and infrastructure) and Technology Infrastructure Upgrades
  14. Maltby Site Elementary Planning & Design, permitting
  15. Skyview/Canyon Creek Addition Planning & Design, permitting
  16. Hollywood Hills – Boiler upgrade
  17. Arrowhead Elementary
    • Fire Hydrant Line Extension
  18. Leota Middle, Canyon Park Middle
    • Tennis court upgrades/renovation
  19. Skyview Middle School
    • Structural upgrades (plinth replacement)

The following capital priority projects are currently active, were completed in summer 2018 or are nearing completion this spring.

  1. Bear Creek Roofing
  2. Canyon Park Field/Turf Replacement
  3. Arrowhead Sod replacement
  4. Kenmore Middle School Sod Replacement
  5. Kokanee Fire Sprinkler upgrades
  6. Inglemoor Hydronic Piping Replacement
  7. Administration Building Data Center/server room HVAC upgrades & some specific roof upgrades
  8. System-wide capacity adds – Instead of locating and siting additional portables throughout the district, several campus locations were chosen for small construction projects (space conversion), in order to add classroom capacity.
  9. Side-sewer/holding tank engineering study and analysis at multiple locations
  10. Continued active construction at Skyview/CC and ES#21
  11. Conceptual and Schematic Design for Inglemoor HS Concert Hall

A final deductive change order upon completion and acceptance at North Creek High School allowed for a positive 2014 bond fund balance. All high school ballfields were included in the 2014 capital bond priorities list, but not enough funds were allocated for all ballfields. Since we now have available funds, we have allocated available 2014 bond funds for upgrades to the high school softball fields. Those projects are in planning stages now and will be starting this summer.
